To take part in the World Championship is a desire of every country, and to see on the hoof the games of the best tennis-players of the planet is a sweet dream of table tennis fans all over the world. For Russians this dream was unfeasible for a great while… But, suddenly, our days had come! On Wednesday, July, 23 in the building of Transport Ministry of Russian Federation after intensive working meeting, that lasted about an hour, ITTF president Adham Sharara and president of the Table Tennis Federation of Russia (FNTR) Igor Levitin had signed the final documents, according with that the Men’s World Cup and Command World Championship would take part in Moscow in October of this year and in May of 2010 correspondingly.

On Thursday A. Sharara will visit the sport gym “Druzhba” and SK “Olimpiysky”.  Plenty of meetings with the representatives of Russian governance are also included in the program, particularly with minister of sport Vitaliy Mutko, mayor of Moscow Yuriy Luzhkov and leaders of Russian Olympic Committee.

Such significant for our country event, as World Championship, will take part in our country for the first time. Though, this concerns as Russian period so Soviet period of Russian History. The jus for holding the World Championship 2010 was conferred to Moscow in 2007 in Zagreb (Croatia) during the ITTF congress.

2000, command and personal championships were divided. During even years the command championships take part and during odd years – personal. The exception was in 2002.
