Mobility Concept

The City of Moscow has an advanced system of public transportation, including subway, commuter trains and surface passenger transport (buses, tramways and trolley buses). Every aspect of the existing public transport infrastructure will be used to service participants and guests of the World Championships. The concept behind transport services is designed to minimize strain that transportation may cause athletes and the ITTF Family. Teams will be transported by dedicated buses escorted by police vehicles.

ITTF President, top ITTF officials, VIP guests and sponsors will be provided with premium class dedicated cars for the duration of the Championships. A police escort will be provided for ITTF officials and VIPs upon request.

Dedicated transportation (buses/minibuses) will accommodate all travel between hotels and the venue throughout entire Championships period at one hour pick-up intervals.

In order to most effectively navigate through the bustling streets of Moscow, the City Department of Transportation has devoted specific “Athletic Lanes” linking official WTTC hotels, Athletes Village to the Olympiysky complex and city’s airports.

The City of Moscow is connected by an intricate web of metro stations, buses, trolleys and tramways that provide reliable and efficient transport for the city’s guests. Additionally, Moscow’s Metro system is famous for its ornate architecture, historic murals and mosaics and has become a prominent Moscow tourist destination in its own right.
