Airports

The WTTC will be serviced by three Moscow’s international airports. The key international outlet will be Sheremetyevo International Airport. The governing body of the airport – the Board of Directors is chaired by the TTFR President and Russia’s Transportation Minister Mr. Igor Levitin. 

Sheremetyevo Airport 

Located about 30 minutes north of the city’s centre, Shermetyevo airport includes two runways, two passenger terminals, 28 international gates, five domestic gates and accommodates up to 3,600 passengers per hour. By 2010, current capacity is slated to increase by 6,600. Sheremetyevo is connected to Moscow via highway and public transport system. By 2010, a new railway line will be completed, providing convenient and quick access to the city and a new international business complex located downtown. 

Domodedovo Airport

 
Domodedovo International Airport is located 50 minutes south of the city’s centre. The airport complex consists of two runways, two passenger terminals and 30 gates. Major construction is currently underway to expand terminal capacity: current capacity is 2,200 passengers per hour but by 2010 it will be expanded to accommodate 2,600 passengers per hour. Domodedovo is linked to Moscow by highway and an express railway line.

Vnukovo Airport

Vnukovo International Airportis located approximately 30 minutes southwest of the city’s centre. The airport has two runways and two passenger terminals. Current passenger capacity is 1,100 passengers per hour, however, construction will add 29 gates to increase capacity to 2,800 passengers per hour. The airport is connected to the city centre by two highways, a high-speed train and the public transport system.  Additionally, a rail line from Vnukovo to downtown has been approved and will be completed by 2010.
